Admission to St. Mary’s Academy is based on merit and the decision of the principal is final including the allocation of morning and afternoon shift for students admitted to the primary section of the school. If all else is equal preference is given to sons of old boys and to those who have or have had real brothers enrolled in the school.

Before making an application for admission parents are encouraged to read the Parent Information Booklet and if appropriate the O and A Level Handbooks that are available in this web site.

ADMISSION TO CLASS PREP

Class Prep classes commence in September and normally students should be about five years of age when they commence this class
Applications for admission to Class Prep open in mid January and close mid April
Application forms are available from the school office on the payment of a fee of Rs.100
School Readiness Assessment is conducted in May together with parent meetings
Places are notified in June of the outcome of their application
Currently there are three classes in the morning and two in the afternoon. When the current building program is completed all classes will operate in the morning.


ADMISSION TO A LEVEL

A Level classes commence in mid August
Applications are accepted during August after O Level results are announced
Application forms and the A Level Handbook are available from the school office on the payment of a fee of Rs.300
After O Level results are announced all applicants and their parents are interviewed by the principal
In special circumstances an application from a student who has completed matriculation will be considered
Applicants are notified by the end of  the third week of August of the outcome of their application


ADMISSION TO O LEVEL

O Level studies commence in September in the year in which a student is promoted to Class 8
Applications for admission open in the previous January and admission tests are held in May
Application forms and the O Level Handbook are available from the school office on the payment of a fee of Rs.300
Applicants are notified before the end of May of the outcome of their application


ADMISSION TO OTHER CLASSES

If there are places available for the commencement of the academic year students are admitted if they meet the selection criteria
Applications open in mid January and an admission test is held in May if there are places available
Application forms are available from the school office on the payment of a fee of Rs.100
Applicants are notified before the end of May of the outcome of their application

ADMISSIONS DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR

If there are places available applications from students who have relocated from outside Rawalpindi will be considered. An interview with the student and his parents is required. The student will also be required to meet the required standard in an admission test. Some special consideration is given to such students seeking readmission to the school.
