Parents Teachers Meeting Letter
Dear Parents May 30th, 2013
Greetings of the season!
Our pupils have settled into their new classes and the teachers have also established classroom rules and have set the expectations. To help us better engage your child in learning and to develop him holistically, we need to involve you as our key partners in education. To do that, the school has organized Parent-Teacher Meeting on June 8th, 2013 (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) to be held at the St. Mary’s Academy Lalazar Tulsa Rd Rawalpindi.
The objectives of this Parent-Teacher Meeting are as follows:
- For parents and teachers to connect with one another.
- To share with you the goals and expectations for your child.
- To update you with educational matters pertaining to syllabus and assessment of various subjects and domains.
PTM is approximately 10 minutes in length – just enough time for you to ask more specific questions, raise any concerns and know your child’s progress to date. Should there be a need for more discussion beyond the 10 minutes, another meeting can be scheduled. Please follow the following questions to inquire about your child’s performance at school:
- What area is he best at?
- Is he working to the best of his ability?
- Does he comprehend what he reads?
- Are there any areas he finds difficult? If so what are these specific areas?
- Do you have any suggestions as to what I might do at home to help?
- Does he participate in class?
- How does he relate to others in the class?
- Does he hand up homework on time, completed and at an acceptable level?
- How does he compare with the rest of the class?
- Does he have difficulty paying attention/following instructions/organizing work or notes?
- Is there anything about his performance or behavior that you are concerned about?
- Is he coping with the particular subject level?
- How does he cope with exam (Test) stress?
- If your child has learning difficulties clarify what help is available and other courses of action that needs to be addressed.
- Remember to take notes, as it’s easy to forget something, particularly with the number of teachers to see at Secondary level.
As this is the beginning of the year, it is good to discuss the progress of your child and set objectives to achieve during the year. Nevertheless, the information shared will deepen your understanding of the learning processes that your child experiences. This meeting is specially prepared for parents only to discuss the first term exam & summer vacation homework. We look forward to meeting you at the PTM.
Yours Sincerely
Patras Bhatti
